As part of a global UN network, SDSN Switzerland offers access to the largest pool of knowledge about sustainable development in Switzerland and worldwide. Exchange among local and international network members promotes the development of practice-oriented and science-based recommendations and solutions for action.
Interrelationships between the SDGs are crucial
The 17 SDGs and their sub-goals are closely interlinked. The individual global goals can only be achieved if progress is also made on other goals. For example, there are important interactions between SDG 15 «Life on Land», SDG 13 «Climate Action» and SDG 2 «Zero Hunger». Synergies must be increasingly drawn upon, and conflicting goals must be concretely addressed. This requires integrated solutions that not only address individual SDGs but also always take the entire system into account.

Action areas of strategic importance for Switzerland
In certain areas, Switzerland can make a particularly significant contribution to achieving the SDGs. These action areas are the focus of SDSN Switzerland’s engagement:
