Towards the 2nd Food System Summit – together for the future of food – Newsletter November 2025
Can collaboration really solve the big challenges of our time? After just over one year of #AvenirAlimentaire, I can whole-heartedly say: It certainly can! The implementation of collective action can help to overcome the increasing polarisation and the Swiss food system is a wonderful example of this: In the past year, over 200 stakeholders along the value chain were included in #AvenirAlimentaire and came together for a common goal: a just and future-proof food system! The community discussed, analysed and identified the biggest barriers and needs of the system. And now, we are continuously and collectively working on impactful levers and concrete solutions for implementation.
Since the launch of #AvenirAlimentaire, we have developed collective action formats such as cross-sectoral working groups and buzz rooms, tailored to the different needs and possibilities of our community. It is a game-changer to regularly connect with new and well-known faces and to bring together existing efforts and innovative ideas for more impact.
This year’s highlight for our community was the Pre-Summit with implementation atelier in November. During the three days in Stans, we felt the energy, power and motivation of stakeholders along the value chain to drive concrete solutions. Once again, it was impressive to see the creativity and commitment of the participants – no matter the sector, the language or the power level: all of them carry the implementation process of #AvenirAlimentaire, live collective action and create the future of food together!
Now, we are excited for the pathway towards the 2nd Swiss Food System Summit 2027! It will be the summit of the “doers” – a stage for already existing as well as emerging positive solutions that create value in the food system for the planet and people. It will be a moment of celebration for collective successes and will create momentum for the ongoing implementation process. We are very much looking forward to this next phase, together with our growing #AvenirAlimentaire community.
