Societies still follow unsustainable pathways despite concrete action already proposed at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in 1992. At this event, we will discuss the role of science 30 years after ‘Rio’ and specific challenges and opportunities for research at the University of Zurich based on research priorities suggested by the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences.
