Tackling the Shift to a Regenerative Economy – Newsletter May 2024
8.5.2024
To thrive in the medium and long term, society as well as enterprises need a healthy planet as a stable foundation. At the same time, companies play a pivotal role in maintaining this vital foundation. But reducing emissions is not enough anymore to stop crises such as biodiversity loss and climate change. We need to go one step further and restore environmental and societal resources – this is the basic idea behind a regenerative economy.
At our conference Tackling the Shift to a Regenerative Economy on June 19th you can get to know pioneers and visionary thinkers, contribute your own expertise, and develop solutions together. For instance, we run a co-creation lab on Regenerative Construction, Built Environment & Infrastructure with visionary architect Fabian Hörmann, Holcim’s Head of Nature Renata Pollini, CEO Patrick Eberhard from Eberhard construction company, and Lorena Zemp from Global Infrastructure Basel. In our Regenerative Health Care lab, we have experts from Roche, Swiss Re, and Swiss TPH, among others. Furthermore, we explore Regenerative Food Systems, Transport & Mobility, and Finance & Insurance.
We are particularly looking forward to having one of Switzerland's most successful entrepreneurs sharing his thoughts with us: André Hoffmann, Vice Chairman of Roche, environmentalist, and philanthropist.
To create a solid scientific basis and a common understanding of a regenerative economy, we teamed up with the Institute for Economy and the Environment from the University of St. Gallen. Together, at our conference we are going to further explore regenerative leadership and measuring regenerativity. A focus lies on best practices and regenerative business cases, with practical input from thriving companies like Qwstion and examples from Germany and France.
The conference is a space for mutual learning and inspiration, where together with science, business, and thought leaders, we create momentum for the shift towards a regenerative economy.
Below, you can read the
programme.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you there!
